Job description

NovaTech Manufacturing is seeking a results driven Industrial Engineer to optimize production lines, reduce waste and elevate overall efficiency across our facility in Houston. You will lead data driven improvement initiatives, standardize work, and collaborate with cross functional teams to achieve safe, reliable, and cost effective operations.

As part of our engineering family, you will champion lean principles, design efficient layouts, and support capacity planning to meet aggressive production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Responsibility

  • Lead time studies, line balancing, and takt time development to optimize workflow and throughput.
  • Analyze current processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement data driven improvements that reduce waste and variability.
  • Design and optimize plant layouts, workstations, and material handling to improve ergonomics and efficiency.
  • Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement projects (DMAIC) with cross functional teams.
  • Develop standard work instructions, operator guides, and visual controls to sustain gains.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and supply chain to ensure feasible, safe solutions.
  • Track metrics, generate dashboards, and report progress to leadership; manage project timelines and budgets.
  • Support capacity planning, production scheduling, and just in time inventory practices.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field; master's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of hands on experience in manufacturing or operations, with a track record of measurable improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, value stream mapping, and problem solving methodologies (DMAIC, 5 Why).
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Minitab, JMP, or R; experience with ERP/MES systems is desirable.
  • Experience with process simulation CAD tools is a plus and ability to interpret blueprints or CAD drawings.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and cross functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage priorities in a fast paced environment.
