NovaForge Mining is looking for a proactive Senior Mining Engineer to join our Perth operations. You will lead technical mine design, optimize extraction sequences, and drive safety, efficiency, and sustainable practices across open pit and underground projects. Responsibility
- Lead and optimize mine design and scheduling for open pit and underground projects using Surpac, Deswik, or equivalent tools.
- Collaborate with geology, production, and maintenance teams to ensure safe, efficient operations.
- Conduct geotechnical assessments, rock mechanics analysis, and ground control plans.
- Develop ventilation, dewatering, and sequencing plans to optimize throughput and safety.
- Monitor budgets, production targets, and key performance indicators; implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate cross functional teams on project deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental and regulatory requirements.
Qualification
- Bachelor or Master degree in Mining Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in mining operations with exposure to both open pit and underground projects
- Strong proficiency in mine design software such as Surpac, Deswik, Vulcan
- Solid knowledge of geotechnical engineering, rock mechanics, and ground control
- Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and project management
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem solving skills
- Willingness to relocate to Perth and eligible to work in Australia
