Responsibility
- Develop and implement archiving policies and retention schedules in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Catalog, index, and manage physical and digital archives using metadata standards (e.g., Dublin Core, PREMIS, EAD).
- Oversee digitization projects, quality control of digital assets, and preservation workflows.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate intake, accession, and de-accession processes.
- Maintain information governance, access controls, and security for sensitive materials.
- Produce finding aids, guides, and searchable catalogs to improve user access.
- Provide training and support to staff and researchers on archival tools and procedures.
- Monitor and report on repository health, storage budgets, and performance metrics.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Archives Management, Information Science, or related field (MLS/MLIS preferred).
- Minimum 2-4 years of hands-on archival or records management experience, preferably with digital preservation.
- Strong knowledge of archival standards (ISO 15489, Dublin Core, METS/ALTO) and metadata schemas.
- Experience with digital asset management systems and archival repositories (e.g., ArchivesSpace, Tropy, Archives IV, or similar).
- Proficiency in digitization workflows, file formats, and preservation planning.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
