Responsibility
- Develop and maintain archival description using metadata standards such as EAD and Dublin Core
- Oversee digitization projects including scoping, capture, quality control, and long term preservation
- Manage accessioning, classification, storage, and retrieval of archival materials
- Configure and maintain digital repositories and metadata schemas
- Collaborate with information governance teams to ensure compliance and data protection
- Conduct regular audits and preservation risk assessments
- Train staff and researchers on archival practices and repository usage
- Document workflows, policies, and performance metrics for continuous improvement
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in Library Science, Archival Studies, Information Management or related field
- 3+ years of archival experience in records management or digital preservation
- Strong knowledge of metadata standards (EAD, Dublin Core, MARC) and taxonomy design
- Experience with digital repositories (eg, DSpace, Islandora) and preservation tooling
- Familiarity with digitization workflows and OCR quality control
- Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functional with IT, legal, and compliance teams
- Detail oriented with a proactive problem solving mindset
