We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Arts Programs Manager to lead program development, production coordination, and partnership cultivation for our flagship season and community programs in New York City.
This role offers the opportunity to shape a dynamic artistic calendar, manage cross-functional teams, and collaborate with venues, educators, and artists to bring bold, inclusive performances to diverse audiences.
Responsibility
- Develop and implement year round performing arts programs and season planning to meet organizational goals.
- Oversee production logistics including scheduling, staffing, stage management, technical coordination, and safety compliance.
- Manage budgets, grant reporting, fundraising events, and sponsorships to sustain programs.
- Build and maintain partnerships with theatres, schools, community organizations, and resident artists to expand reach.
- Lead cross departmental teams (production, marketing, education) to ensure timely delivery of each program.
- Oversee artist relations, contracts, rights licensing, risk management, and contract compliance.
- Cultivate audience development strategies, community outreach, and accessibility initiatives to broaden participation.
- Monitor program impact through metrics, evaluations, and stakeholder feedback, and report findings to leadership.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in arts administration, theatre, dance, communications, or related field; master's preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in performing arts program management or production roles.
- Proven track record in program development, budgeting, grant writing, and fundraising.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building with artists, venues, funders, and community partners.
- Knowledge of licensing, rights, contracts, insurance, and risk management for performances.
- Proficiency with event management tools, CRM systems, and data analysis to measure impact.
