AuroraStage Productions is a leading force in contemporary performing arts in New York. We are seeking an Executive Producer to lead the development, production, and presentation of bold theatre, dance, and multidisciplinary works. The ideal candidate blends artistic sensitivity with strategic leadership, fundraising acumen, and operational excellence.
As Executive Producer, you will shape programming, secure resources, and ensure exceptional audience experiences from concept to curtain call. You will collaborate with artists and partners to elevate artistic impact while sustaining financial vitality.
This is a full-time role based in New York, with opportunities to impact a diverse range of productions and communities.
Responsibility
- Lead the end-to-end production cycle for performing arts programs, from concept to premiere, ensuring artistic integrity and financial viability.
- Oversee budgeting, scheduling, contracting, and vendor management to deliver high-quality productions on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with artistic directors, designers, and technical teams to translate creative visions into executable productions.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with venues, presenting partners, donors, sponsors, and community organizations.
- Develop and execute fundraising plans, grant applications, sponsorship initiatives, and donor stewardship programs.
- Lead marketing and audience development strategies in partnership with the communications team to maximize reach and impact.
- Ensure compliance with legal, union, safety, and risk management standards across all productions.
- Mentor and manage cross-functional production teams, ensuring a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in arts administration, theatre, dance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in producing performing arts, theatre, or dance, with a track record of successful projects.
- Proven fundraising experience, including grants, sponsorships, and donor relations.
- Strong budget management, contract negotiation, and financial stewardship skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience working with artists, producers, venues, and interdisciplinary teams; comfortable with high-profile productions.
- Ability to travel, work evenings and weekends as needed, and manage competing priorities under pressure.
