Nova Institute for Philosophical Studies invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Philosophy. This full-time, tenure-track position focuses on teaching and research in ethics, political philosophy, and epistemology. The successful candidate will contribute to a vibrant academic community through high-quality teaching, innovative scholarship, and student mentorship.
Responsibility
- Deliver high-quality instruction in undergraduate and graduate philosophy courses, with emphasis on ethics and political philosophy.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects and mentor senior theses.
- Design inclusive curricula and employ innovative pedagogies.
- Advance an independent research program with publications in peer-reviewed venues.
- Present at conferences and participate in departmental seminars.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and cross-disciplinary initiatives.
- Contribute to service within the department, university committees, and outreach programs.
Qualification
- Ph.D. in Philosophy or closely related field by start date.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Strong research agenda with publications and conference presentations.
- Ability to teach foundational and specialized courses in ethics, political philosophy, and epistemology.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching and scholarship.
- Experience with curriculum development and scholarly advising.
