Responsibility
- Partner with students to develop personalized academic and career plans aligned with their strengths and interests.
- Provide individual and group counseling to support social-emotional well-being and resilience.
- Deliver classroom presentations on college readiness, career exploration, and postsecondary options.
- Assess student needs, coordinate with teachers, families, and outside resources, and track progress in confidential records.
- Design and implement targeted interventions and referrals for at-risk students.
- Collaborate with college admissions teams, scholarship offices, and community partners to expand opportunities.
- Facilitate postsecondary planning events, on-site workshops, and mentoring programs.
- Utilize data to evaluate program impact and continuously improve services.
Qualification
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Educational Psychology, School Counseling, or a related field.
- Valid state school counselor certification or licensure (or eligibility to obtain).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in K-12 counseling or higher education advising.
- Strong knowledge of career assessment tools and college admissions processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills with diverse student populations.
- Experience with data-driven counseling, case management, and progress tracking.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered practice; ability to collaborate across teams.
- Organizational skills, time management, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
