Trinity Gate Seminary invites applications for a full time tenure track position as Assistant Professor of Theology. Located in Boston Massachusetts, we seek a scholar who can teach undergraduate and graduate theology courses, supervise student research, and contribute to the seminary's mission of academic excellence and spiritual formation.
We value rigorous scholarship, strong teaching efficacy, and a pastoral or ministry orientation that equips graduates for thoughtful leadership in church and society.
Responsibility
- Teach core theology courses across undergraduate and graduate programs including systematic theology and historical theology
- Develop and update curricula to foster critical thinking and spiritual formation
- Supervise theses and capstone projects, providing constructive feedback
- Advise students on academic and career pathways and ministry preparation
- Engage in scholarly research and publish in peer reviewed venues
- Participate in faculty governance, committees, and accreditation processes
- Represent the seminary in community outreach and interfaith dialogue
- Provide mentorship through office hours seminars and directed studies
Qualification
- PhD or ABD in Theology or a closely related field from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated teaching excellence with evidence of effective pedagogy and student mentorship
- Strong research agenda with publications in peer reviewed venues
- Ability to teach a range of courses including systematic theology ethics and church history
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusive pedagogy
- Pastoral experience or effective ministry leadership preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students and colleagues
