Pegatron, a global leader in electronics manufacturing and automation, is seeking a skilled Automation Equipment Engineer to join our Kulai, Johor team. In this role, you will install, debug, maintain, and repair complex automation equipment across our high-volume production lines. You will work closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to optimize equipment performance, minimize downtime, and ensure safety and quality standards are met. Responsibilities include commissioning new lines, performing preventive maintenance, updating control software, and implementing process improvements that boost throughput and reliability. Responsibility
- Lead installation, commissioning, and calibration of automated production equipment on site.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, alignment, and preventive replacement of components.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to optimize production processes and throughput.
- Develop and implement equipment improvement projects, including PLC, HMI, robot interfaces, and servo systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards; participate in internal audits.
- Create and maintain documentation: maintenance logs, spares lists, standard operating procedures.
- Mentor junior technicians and provide training on equipment operation and safety protocols.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience with automation equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens and Allen-Bradley), HMI, SCADA, and robotics.
- Experience with preventive maintenance, vibration analysis, and motor drives (VFDs).
- Familiarity with safety standards (OSHA, ISO 13849, IEC 62061) and TPM/6S principles.
- Analytical problem solving skills and the ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Strong communication and teamwork capabilities; able to work in a Kulai/Johor manufacturing setting.
- Willingness to be on call and adapt to production schedules as required.
