NovaWave Studios is seeking a skilled Broadcasting Engineer to lead live production and studio operations in our Los Angeles facility. You will collaborate with producers, directors, and on-air talent to deliver high-quality, reliable broadcasts across multiple platforms.
In this role you will maintain and operate video and audio systems, coordinate signal routing, configure live-switching software, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. Responsibility
- Oversee live production switching, signal routing, and multi-camera setups for news, events, and programming.
- Manage studio infrastructure including switchers, routers, audio desks, intercoms, and monitoring systems.
- Configure and operate broadcasting software (live switching, OBS, NDI) and playback systems.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during live broadcasts with minimal downtime.
- Plan and implement preventive maintenance, upgrades, and equipment replacement strategies.
- Collaborate with producers and directors to ensure on-air quality and timing.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Engineering, Media Technology, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years in live broadcast environments with hands-on studio operations.
- Proficiency with video switchers, audio consoles, and routing equipment; familiarity with IFB systems.
- Experience with broadcast software such as OBS, vMix, or TriCaster; strong knowledge of NDI and RTMP streaming.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills; ability to perform under pressure during live events.
- Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards relevant to studio operations and broadcasting.
