Responsibility
- Lead and monitor live broadcasts across control rooms, master control, and remote production feeds to ensure uninterrupted signal quality.
- Maintain and troubleshoot video/audio routing, switching, and broadcast automation systems.
- Manage studio infrastructure including cameras, lighting, IFB, intercoms, and waveform monitors.
- Oversee IP-based workflows (SMPTE 2110, NDI, OTT streaming) and ensure interoperability with legacy SDI systems.
- Plan, execute, and document preventive maintenance, system upgrades, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and IT teams to implement new technologies and improve efficiency.
- Respond to incidents with minimal impact on on air schedules and provide post incident reports.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Broadcast Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of broadcast engineering experience in live TV, sports, or news environments.
- Strong knowledge of video/audio systems, SDI/IP routing, video servers, switchers, encoders/decoders, and monitoring equipment.
- Hands-on experience with IP-based broadcasting (SMPTE 2110), RTMP/HLS streaming, and broadcast automation systems.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot under tight deadlines and work on-call during evenings/weekends.
- Familiarity with FCC regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills; ability to mentor junior staff.
- Certifications such as SBE, CEDIA, or CCNA are a plus.
