NorthStar Career Strategies is seeking a results-driven Career Consultant to guide professionals through career transitions, portfolio development, and executive coaching. This full-time role in New York, NY offers a hybrid work environment and opportunities to impact clients at every career stage.
As a Career Consultant, you will empower clients with strategic career plans, compelling resumes, optimized LinkedIn presence, and interview coaching designed to land their ideal roles. You will collaborate with individuals across industries to help them articulate value, overcome barriers, and achieve measurable outcomes.
Responsibility
- Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions to identify career goals and create actionable, results-driven plans.
- Design personalized resumes, LinkedIn profiles, portfolios, and personal branding materials.
- Lead interview coaching sessions, mock interviews, and feedback to improve performance and confidence.
- Develop targeted job-search strategies, including high-potential companies, outreach plans, and networking tactics.
- Assess skills, interests, and market trends using validated tools to inform career decisions.
- Monitor progress against milestones and KPIs, adjusting plans as needed.
- Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high satisfaction and repeat engagements.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, psychology, business, or related field; professional coaching certifications (ICF, CCA) preferred.
- 3+ years of career coaching, recruiting, or HR experience with a track record of client success.
- Strong resume writing, LinkedIn optimization, and personal branding skills; familiarity with ATS.
- Excellent listening, questioning, and communication abilities; able to build trust quickly.
- Experience delivering structured coaching programs and measuring outcomes.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, client-centric environment; well-organized and self-motivated.
- Proficiency with career assessment tools (MBTI, CliftonStrengths, Big Five) is a plus.
