As a Cashier, you will be responsible for processing orders and payments accurately, handling several payment methods, balancing cash at shift end, and maintaining a clean, organized POS area. Responsibility
- Handle cash transactions with accuracy at the point of sale and process payments efficiently using the restaurant POS system.
- Take and relay customer orders, ensuring accuracy and friendly service.
- Balance cash drawer at start and end of shift; report discrepancies per procedure.
- Maintain a clean, organized counter area and assist in basic cashier-related inventory management.
- Provide friendly, professional service and respond to guest inquiries regarding menu items and promotions.
- Upsell daily specials and popular menu items to boost sales while maintaining guest satisfaction.
- Adhere to health, safety, and security policies; follow cash-handling and POS guidelines.
- Collaborate with kitchen and floor staff to ensure timely, accurate order fulfillment.
Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent; 1+ year experience in a cashier or customer-facing role preferred.
- Strong numerical ability and attention to detail; comfortable with cash handling and POS systems.
- Excellent communication and friendly, professional demeanor.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and manage guest expectations calmly.
- Basic retail or restaurant experience is a plus; knowledge of promotions and upselling techniques is preferred.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic; able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
