SETSCO is seeking a dedicated Certification Engineer to join our Fire Safety Products team in Singapore. In this role, you will ensure our products meet the highest fire safety standards and regulatory requirements, protecting buildings and the people who rely on them. You will collaborate with product developers, manufacturing, and quality teams to build robust technical dossiers and guide certification activities from concept to market release. As a Certification Engineer, you will manage the end-to-end certification process for fire safety products, coordinating tests, documentation, and submissions with national and international bodies. You will assess designs against applicable standards, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions with cross-functional teams. Maintaining meticulous records of test reports, certificates, and regulatory communications is essential to maintain audit readiness and support post-market surveillance.

Responsibility

  • Lead and coordinate certification activities for fire safety products to ensure compliance with local and international standards.
  • Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and QA to prepare technical dossiers, test plans, and product documentation for submissions to certification bodies.
  • Plan and oversee product testing, validation, and field evaluations; track progress and ensure timely approvals.
  • Review new and existing product designs against applicable fire safety standards; identify gaps and drive corrective actions.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of certificates, test reports, and regulatory correspondence; ensure audit readiness.
  • Support customers and internal teams with technical guidance on fire safety requirements and best practices.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Safety Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in product certification, regulatory compliance, or fire safety testing.
  • Solid understanding of fire safety standards and certification schemes applicable to building and consumer products.
  • Experience preparing technical dossiers, risk assessments, and test reports; attention to detail.
  • Excellent documentation, organizational, and project management skills; ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams and external authorities.
