As part of our midwifery team, you will guide low-risk pregnancies, offer intrapartum support, provide lactation counseling, and promote continuous quality improvement in maternal-newborn care. Responsibility

  • Provide comprehensive midwifery care across the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods with a focus on evidence-based, patient-centered practice.
  • Perform risk assessments, screenings, and counseling to support informed decision-making and healthy outcomes.
  • Support labor and birth, including pain management options, continuous support during labor, and facilitation of cesarean, VBAC, and water birth plans when appropriate.
  • Conduct newborn assessments, promote lactation support, and assist families with early parenting and newborn care.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses, and lactation consultants to ensure cohesive, multidisciplinary care.
  • Educate patients and families through individualized counseling and prenatal classes, promoting empowerment and informed choices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualification

  • Active Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) license in the state of Oregon; board-certified by relevant accrediting body (e.g., ACOG/NBOME).
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical midwifery experience preferred; exceptional new graduates with accredited residency may be considered.
  • Current BLS, CPR, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification; additional perinatal training as required.
  • Excellent communication, cultural humility, and patient advocacy skills; ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (e.g., EPIC) and commitment to documentation accuracy and privacy.
  • Ability to manage a flexible schedule, including potential on-call shifts and weekends.
