Join Portland Family Birth Center as a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM). We’re a patient-centered, collaborative team dedicated to empowering families through evidence-based, compassionate care across prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum periods. As a CNM with us, you will partner with obstetricians, pediatricians, and support staff to provide comprehensive, respectful care that aligns with each family's values. This position emphasizes continuity of care, lactation support, and education that enables informed decision-making for diverse populations.
Responsibility

- Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care for diverse patient populations. \n
- Manage low- and high-risk pregnancies in collaboration with the medical team. \n
- Perform routine assessments, risk screenings, and birth plans with families. \n
- Offer evidence-based education on prenatal nutrition, breastfeeding, newborn care, and family planning. \n
- Lead labor and delivery support, including on-call coverage as part of a fair rotation. \n
- Document care using electronic medical records and maintain meticulous charting practices. \n
- Coordinate with ancillary services (lactation consultants, social workers, neonatology) to ensure seamless care. \n
- Advance quality improvement initiatives and participate in community outreach and education programs. \n
Qualification

- Current Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) certification from an accredited program. \n
- Active RN license and CNM certification in Oregon or eligibility with license transfer readiness. \n
- Minimum 2+ years of clinical midwifery experience preferred; new graduates with exceptional clinical training may be considered. \n
- Proficiency in obstetric assessment, fetal monitoring, lactation support, and newborn care. \n
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills; commitment to patient-centered care. \n
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and adapt to a fast-paced environment. \n
- BLS/CPR certification; PALS or ACLS preferred for high-risk cases. \n
- Commitment to continuing education and evidence-based practice. \n
