Responsibility

  • Lead the design and optimization of chemical processes from concept through commissioning and start-up.
  • Develop and validate process models using Aspen Plus, HYSYS, and other simulation tools.
  • Perform process safety analyses (HAZOP, LOPA) and implement risk reduction measures.
  • Scale pilot data to commercial operations, ensuring reliability, safety, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with operations, equipment, and maintenance teams to select equipment and optimize energy and utility usage.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, P&IDs, operating procedures, and change controls.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce emissions, waste, and water usage while improving yield and cost performance.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in chemical process design, optimization, or refinery/industrial operations.
  • Strong proficiency in process simulation (Aspen Plus, HYSYS, or equivalent).
  • Hands-on experience with distillation, heat exchangers, reactors, and separation processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with process safety management, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools and a continuous improvement mindset (Lean/Six Sigma a plus).
