Responsibility
- Prepare and check civil design calculations, feasibility studies, and technical reports for transportation, drainage, and site development projects.
- Create and review construction drawings and details using AutoCAD Civil 3D and BIM tools.
- Model and analyze drainage, roadway, and structural systems; assess geotechnical and environmental considerations.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory agencies to manage project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Lead multidisciplinary design teams, review QA/QC deliverables, and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
- Perform field inspections, monitor construction progress, and resolve field issues with practical engineering solutions.
- Assist in preparation of permit applications and documentation for regulatory approvals.
- Mentor junior engineers and junior staff, promoting best practices and professional development.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program; Master's degree a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe.
- 3-7 years of relevant civil engineering experience in transportation, drainage, or site development.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, BIM tools (Revit, BIM 360), and related design software.
- Strong knowledge of codes and standards (AASHTO, CALTRANS guidelines, CBC/IBC).
- Experience with hydrology/hydraulic modeling and drainage design; familiarity with geotechnical considerations is a plus.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to work on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area and travel to project sites as needed.
