Pacific Crest Engineering Group is seeking a driven Civil Engineer to join our growing transportation and infrastructure team in Seattle. You will work on a variety of challenging projects including roadway widening, drainage studies, utility coordination, and bridge assessments. In this role, you will engage with clients, review design criteria, perform calculations, prepare design drawings, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal standards. You will also mentor junior staff, lead technical reviews, and contribute to project planning and risk management.
Ideal candidates are licensed or progressing towards licensure, with hands-on experience in civil design software and a passion for delivering safe, sustainable infrastructure.
Responsibility
- Lead civil design and analysis for transportation and utility projects from concept to construction
- Prepare and review drainage, pavement, and site design drawings and specifications
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and public agencies to ensure constructability
- Develop feasibility studies, cost estimates, and project schedules
- Perform hydraulic and hydrology modeling and traffic impact analyses
- Ensure strict adherence to codes, standards, and QA/QC procedures
- Mentor junior engineers and guide junior drafters and technicians
- Support permit application processes and public stakeholder communications
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; PE licensure preferred or active track for licensure
- 5+ years of civil engineering experience in transportation or infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and related design software
- Strong knowledge of drainage design, grading, and stormwater management
- Experience with project management, scheduling, and budgeting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment
- Knowledge of local Seattle area codes and permitting processes is a plus
