In this role you will lead the design and analysis of civil and structural systems, ensure compliance with local and international codes, and coordinate with clients, architects, and contractors to translate concepts into robust, safe structures. You will perform calculations, review drawings, and oversee the preparation of technical reports and documentation. You will manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and QA/QC procedures, and you will mentor junior engineers and support staff as part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team. Responsibility
- Lead the civil and structural design and analysis for buildings, infrastructure, and industrial facilities in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, and specifications using industry tools such as AutoCAD or Revit, and structural analysis software including STAAD.Pro, ETABS or SAP2000.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, and contractors to translate concepts into robust, safe, and code-compliant structures.
- Manage project scope, schedule, and budget while ensuring quality control and timely delivery of deliverables.
- Conduct site visits, supervise construction activities, perform inspections, and uphold QA/QC and safety requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and support staff, contribute to technical proposals, and support business development through value engineering.
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and ensure design changes are properly implemented in construction documents.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in civil and structural design and project delivery.
- Professional Engineer registration or eligibility; membership in a recognized professional body is desirable.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, or SAP2000.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of local building codes, Malaysian standards, and sustainability practices; fluency in English and Malay preferred.
- Willingness to travel to site locations as required and adapt to varying project demands.
