Join Apex Resilience Group as a Crisis Management Director. You will lead enterprise-wide crisis readiness, incident response, and strategic communications for a diverse client portfolio. This is a high-visibility role designed for a seasoned practitioner who thrives under pressure and can drive resilient outcomes across functions.
In this role, you will partner with C-suite leaders to design, implement, and continuously improve crisis management programs, including planning, training, and real-time response. You will foster cross-functional collaboration, oversee incident command structures, and advise on regulatory and reputational risk considerations.
Responsibility
- Lead development and maintenance of enterprise crisis management plans, playbooks, and business continuity strategies.
- Coordinate incident response efforts across functions and manage the Crisis Management Team during live events.
- Oversee crisis communications strategy, including internal and external messaging, media relations, and stakeholder briefings.
- Partner with legal, security, IT, operations, and HR to align response protocols with regulatory requirements and business objectives.
- Conduct risk assessments, materiality analyses, and scenario planning to identify vulnerabilities and priority actions.
- Plan and execute tabletop exercises and simulation drills to test readiness and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead post-incident reviews, root-cause analyses, and remediation roadmaps to strengthen resilience.
- Provide executive coaching and awareness programs to build a culture of preparedness across the organization.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management, emergency management, business administration, or related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum 8+ years in crisis management, incident response, or business continuity in large enterprises or consulting environments.
- Proven ability to lead under pressure, make timely decisions, and communicate clearly with executives and stakeholders.
- Strong experience with crisis communications, media relations, and reputational risk management.
- Familiarity with risk management frameworks (ISO 22301, NIST) and regulatory considerations; certification such as CBCP or CCP is a plus.
- Excellent project management, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% and to operate in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
