Job description

Join NorthStar Crisis Management as a Crisis Management Lead and drive enterprise wide readiness, response, and recovery efforts. You will partner with executive leadership, operations, security, and communications teams to anticipate incidents, design scalable crisis response frameworks, and coordinate rapid decision making during emergencies.

In this role, you will build and safeguard our crisis management program, oversee incident command during events, and ensure timely, accurate communications to internal and external stakeholders. This position offers hybrid work options in New York City and opportunities to shape resilience across global operations.

Responsibility

  • Develop and maintain the organization's crisis management program, including incident command, escalation protocols, and recovery planning.
  • Lead incident command during critical events, coordinating cross functional teams and external partners to contain impact and protect assets.
  • Design and execute crisis communications strategies, including media relations, internal briefings, and stakeholder outreach.
  • Conduct risk assessments, business impact analyses, and tabletop exercises to test readiness and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with security, IT, operations, and legal teams to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Lead post incident reviews, develop lessons learned, and update playbooks to reduce response times and improve resilience.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of preparedness and responsible risk management.

Qualification

  • Minimum 5 years in crisis management, business continuity, risk management, or related fields.
  • Experience leading incident command in complex, matrixed organizations with multiple geographies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to deliver clear, concise updates to executives and stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in crisis communications, media relations, and stakeholder engagement during high pressure events.
  • Experience integrating crisis management with IT disaster recovery and security strategies.
  • Certification in business continuity ( CBCP, DAMA, ISO 22301 lead implementer, or equivalent) is a plus.
