We are seeking a dynamic Curator & Gallery Manager to lead exhibition programming, steward our artist roster, and elevate our community engagement. You will collaborate with artists, collectors, curators, and educators to deliver immersive exhibitions and educational programs that resonate with diverse audiences.
In this role, you will oversee curatorial research, acquisitions, installation, and collection management while guiding budget planning and operational logistics. Responsibility
- Develop and curate seasonal exhibitions that reflect deep research and bold contemporary voices.
- Lead all aspects of gallery programming, including artist talks, education programs, and partnerships with schools and nonprofits.
- Oversee acquisitions, collections management, and cataloging, ensuring accurate records and conservation standards.
- Coordinate installation, framing, lighting, and signage to deliver compelling visitor experiences.
- Manage exhibition budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships to ensure timely project delivery.
- Collaborate with marketing and development teams to plan outreach, press, and fundraising activities.
- Build and maintain relationships with artists, galleries, curators, and collectors to expand the roster and network.
- Supervise curatorial assistants and interns, fostering professional growth and rigorous research practices.
Qualification
- Master’s degree in Art History, Fine Arts, or a related field; PhD or MFA considered a strong plus.
- Minimum 5 years of curatorial or gallery management experience in contemporary or fine arts settings.
- Strong research skills with a deep knowledge of international contemporary art and artists.
- Proven track record of coordinating exhibitions from concept to installation, including budgets and logistics.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to engage diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in collection management systems (e.g., TMS) and digital archiving practices.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with a diverse team of curatorial staff, artists, and volunteers.
- Fluent English; additional languages a plus; willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.
