Pulse NYC Dance Collective is a premier studio in the heart of Manhattan dedicated to technical excellence, artistry, and community. We are seeking a professional Dance Instructor to lead high-caliber classes across Ballet, Contemporary, and Hip-Hop, inspiring students from beginners to advanced levels.
This role offers opportunities to choreograph original routines, mentor junior instructors, and contribute to our studio's programming and events.
Responsibility
- Lead and choreograph dynamic group classes across Ballet, Contemporary, and Hip-Hop for mixed levels.
- Design seasonal curriculums, progressions, and assessments to track student growth.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback, ensure safety guidelines are followed, and prevent injuries.
- Execute warm-ups, across-the-floor exercises, and center-floor combinations with precision.
- Mentor assistant instructors and support studio programming, auditions, and showcases.
- Collaborate with artistic directors to stage performances and community events.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive studio culture and promote healthy training habits.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities.
Qualification
- Minimum 3-5 years of teaching experience in Ballet, Contemporary, or Hip-Hop; professional performance experience preferred.
- Strong classical technique, musicality, and ability to translate concepts for all levels.
- Choreography skills with ability to tailor routines to student capabilities and stage requirements.
- Excellent communication, mentorship, and classroom management skills.
- First aid/CPR or equivalent safety training; ability to assess and modify routines for safety.
- Bachelor's degree in Dance, Arts Education, or related field preferred.
- Eligibility to work in the United States; flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
- Professionalism, reliability, and a collaborative mindset in a fast-paced studio environment.
