Pulse Dance Studio is seeking a dynamic, professional Dance Instructor to join our elite team in New York. The ideal candidate brings technical excellence, creative energy, and a passion for mentoring students of all levels.
As a full time member of our instruction team, you will lead multiple classes weekly, contribute to choreography, and inspire dancers to perform at their best on stage and in the studio.
Responsibility
- Lead engaging group dance classes across styles including contemporary, hip hop, and ballet; adapt to all skill levels.
- Develop and implement progressive curriculum and track student progress.
- Choreograph routine for performances and showcases in collaboration with leadership.
- Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to students and junior instructors.
- Maintain studio safety, demonstrate proper warmups, conditioning, and injury prevention.
- Collaborate with studio management on event planning and community outreach.
- Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions.
Qualification
- BA or equivalent in dance or related field, or 3+ years professional performance and teaching experience.
- Strong technique in at least two styles and proven versatility across genres.
- Experience designing curricula and leading classes for diverse age groups.
- Outstanding communication, stage presence, and leadership skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules and manage classes of various sizes.
- Knowledge of injury prevention and safe practice guidelines.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.
