Pulse Motion Academy is seeking a dynamic Dance Instructor and Choreographer to join our elite studio in New York City. This role blends technique coaching with innovative choreography for performances, workshops, and studio productions.
As a key member of our dance family, you will mentor dancers of varying ages and levels, delivering engaging classes, rehearsals, and creative collaborations that showcase artistry, precision, and expression. We value professionalism, curiosity, and a collaborative spirit.
Responsibility
- Lead and choreograph engaging technique classes for beginner to advanced students across contemporary, jazz, and ballet styles.
- Design progressive curricula and rehearsals for performances, showcases, and outreach events.
- Provide clear demonstrations, corrections, and feedback to enhance technique and artistry.
- Monitor safety, alignment, and injury prevention; adapt sessions for diverse abilities.
- Collaborate with the Artistic Director on seasonal productions and auditions.
- Mentor and motivate students, build a positive studio culture, and maintain attendance records.
- Contribute to marketing efforts through class previews, social media, and community outreach.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Dance or a minimum of 3 years of professional teaching/choreography experience.
- Strong proficiency in contemporary and jazz; training in ballet is a plus.
- Proven ability to choreograph original routines and adapt to student levels.
- Excellent communication, demonstration, and feedback skills.
- Experience teaching diverse age groups; inclusive, supportive teaching approach preferred.
- Availability for evenings and weekends; ability to travel for workshops/performances is a plus.
