Lumina Dance Collective is seeking a dynamic, experienced Dance Instructor & Choreographer to lead classes, develop progressive curricula, and elevate our performance program in New York City. The successful candidate will combine mastery of technique with creative direction, mentor a diverse group of dancers, and collaborate with a professional production team.

Responsibility
- Lead and choreograph dance classes across multiple styles (ballet, contemporary, hip-hop) for all levels, ensuring technical excellence and expressive storytelling.
- Design progressive curricula and season plans aligned with the company repertoire and community programs.
- Mentor dancers on technique, performance quality, injury prevention, and professional growth.
- Rehearse and stage performances with the production team; coordinate with music, lighting, and costume departments for cohesive storytelling.
- Collaborate with outreach and education teams to develop workshops, auditions, and community events.
- Manage class scheduling, instructor coordination, and staff communications to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Foster an inclusive, safe, and professional studio environment that supports creative risk-taking and wellness.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Dance, Performing Arts, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of teaching and choreographing in a professional setting.
- Proficiency in at least two dance styles (e.g., ballet, contemporary, hip-hop) with strong musicality.
- Proven track record of creating original works and leading performances on stage or in rehearsal settings.
- Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and mentorship skills.
- Knowledge of safe dance practices, injury prevention, and basic anatomy; first aid training a plus.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends for rehearsals and performances; willingness to travel for workshops or events.
- Experience with audition coaching, casting, and program development.
