PulseDance Studios, a premier dance academy in New York City, seeks a passionate Dance Instructor to join our dynamic team. This full-time position is ideal for a versatile dancer who thrives on teaching, choreography, and student mentorship.
As a Dance Instructor, you will design progressive curriculum, coach technique across styles (contemporary, hip-hop, and ballet), lead rehearsals for student performances, and contribute to studio events and community outreach. You will inspire students of all ages and levels with professional standards, creativity, and positive energy.
Responsibility
- Lead and choreograph a diverse schedule of dance classes across styles including contemporary, hip-hop, and ballet.
- Plan and implement progressive curricula that build technique, artistry, and performance skills.
- Provide individualized feedback and modify instruction to accommodate varied learner needs.
- Direct rehearsals for student showcases and seasonal performances, ensuring high-quality performances.
- Collaborate with other instructors on curriculum development and cross-style fusion projects.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and energetic studio environment; monitor safety and injury prevention.
- Participate in outreach, auditions, and community events to grow studio enrollment.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in dance or equivalent professional training with at least 3-5 years of teaching experience.
- Proficiency in contemporary, hip-hop, and ballet; strong choreography capabilities.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to adapt to different ages and skill levels; patient, motivating, and professional demeanor.
- Strong understanding of injury prevention and safe warm-ups; basic knowledge of anatomy is a plus.
- Willingness to collaborate with a diverse team and contribute to studio culture.
