Responsibility
- Lead the artistic planning and execution of the company's dance programs, performances, and community workshops to ensure artistic excellence and cohesion.
- Collaborate with choreographers, dancers, designers, and production teams to design and stage innovative repertoires.
- Develop outreach and education initiatives to engage diverse audiences and expand programming beyond the stage.
- Oversee casting, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation for all productions.
- Mentor and develop dancers, apprentices, and staff through auditions, residencies, and mentorship.
- Ensure safety, compliance, and risk management across rehearsal and performance spaces.
- Represent the organization in partnerships, festivals, and fundraising events to secure support and visibility.
Qualification
- Bachelor or Master degree in dance, arts administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 5 years in leadership roles within a dance company, school, or arts organization.
- Strong choreographic and artistic direction abilities with the capacity to translate concepts into movement.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a collaborative leadership style.
- Experience with budgeting, grants, fundraising, and internal or external partnerships.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends; willingness to travel as required.
- Deep knowledge of multiple dance styles and contemporary repertoires; commitment to inclusivity and artistic innovation.
