Join Nova Dance Collective as the Dance Program Director, leading artistic direction, program development, and company growth in a dynamic New York City setting. This role blends creative leadership with strategic operations, guiding a diverse team of artists, educators, and administrators to deliver world-class dance experiences for audiences and communities.
You will partner with choreographers, schools, and venues to expand programming, build partnerships, and sustain the organization financially and artistically.
Responsibility
- Oversee artistic direction and program development across mainstage and community initiatives.
- Lead casting, repertoire planning, and rehearsal scheduling.
- Develop and manage annual program budgets, timelines, and evaluation metrics.
- Collaborate with choreographers, educators, and partners to create inclusive programming.
- Expand audience access through partnerships, outreach, and education initiatives.
- Hire, supervise, and mentor staff, freelancers, and guest artists.
- Lead fundraising efforts, grants reporting, and sponsorship cultivation.
- Represent the organization at events, festivals, and donor meetings.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Dance, Arts Administration, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5+ years of leadership experience within a dance or performing arts organization.
- Proven track record in program development, choreography, and company management.
- Strong budget management, fundraising, and grant-writing abilities.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project-management skills.
- Deep knowledge of diverse dance styles and communities; commitment to equity and inclusion.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required; US work authorization.
