Join the Global Diplomacy Institute, a premier think tank focused on international relations and diplomacy. We are seeking a Diplomacy Analyst to advance research, policy analysis, and diplomatic engagement in Washington, DC.
As part of our Policy & Global Affairs team, you will translate complex geopolitical developments into actionable insights, support senior leadership with strategic recommendations, and represent the institute in external forums.
Responsibility
- Conduct rigorous research and policy analysis on current and emerging diplomatic issues, with a focus on bilateral and multilateral engagement.
- Prepare briefs, memoranda, and policy papers for senior leaders and external audiences.
- Monitor global political developments, assess risks, and provide scenario analyses and recommendations.
- Support outreach with foreign ministries, ambassadors, international organizations, NGOs, and corporate partners.
- Assist in the planning and execution of diplomacy-related events, roundtables, and conferences.
- Develop negotiation support materials, position papers, and strategy briefs for stakeholder engagements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including research, events, communications, and government affairs.
- Represent the institute at external meetings and conferences when required, maintaining the highest professional standards.
Qualification
- Master's degree in International Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, or a related field (PhD preferred).
- 3-6 years of experience in diplomacy, international affairs, policy analysis, or government service.
- Strong research, writing, and editing skills with the ability to distill complex topics into clear insights.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with experience presenting to senior leaders and external audiences.
- Familiarity with international organizations (UN, EU) and diplomatic protocols; experience in multilateral diplomacy is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment and manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency in English; proficiency in a second language (e.g., French, Spanish, Arabic) is a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of time as needed.
