Job description

Global Nexus Institute seeks a proactive Diplomacy & International Relations Officer to advance our policy research and alliance-building initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of research, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement, requiring strong analytical prowess, cross-cultural communication, and strategic thinking.

As a key member of our Diplomatic Programs team, you will design policy briefs, coordinate with government and international partners, and contribute to multi-stakeholder diplomacy projects that influence policy outcomes.

Responsibility

  • Develop and manage policy research initiatives on international cooperation, security, and diplomacy.
  • Build and maintain relationships with government officials, embassies, think tanks, and non-governmental organizations.
  • Draft policy briefs, position papers, and briefing materials for senior leadership and external partners.
  • Plan and coordinate high-level diplomacy events, roundtables, and working group meetings.
  • Monitor geopolitical developments and synthesize insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Represent the organization at multilateral forums and bilateral meetings as needed.
  • Collaborate with communications to translate research into accessible public content and media.

Qualification

  • Master's degree in International Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, or a related field; PhD a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in diplomacy, government affairs, policy analysis, or international development.
  • Proven ability to conduct policy research, synthesize complex data, and produce clear briefs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, public speaking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of global governance, multilateral institutions, and international law fundamentals.
  • Fluency in English required; additional languages (French, Arabic, Spanish) a plus.
  • Willingness to travel and work from the DC office as needed.
