Job description

Global Diplomacy Institute is seeking a seasoned Diplomatic Affairs Manager to join our Brussels-based team. This role drives international policy initiatives, supports bilateral and multilateral diplomacy, and strengthens stakeholder engagement across government, intergovernmental organizations, and civil society.

In this role you will synthesize policy analysis, manage cross-functional programs, and lead high-stakes negotiations with accuracy, integrity, and diplomacy. You will collaborate with policymakers, diplomats, and leaders from international organizations to advance our mission of informed, ethical global engagement.

Responsibility

  • Lead and coordinate international policy research and briefings for senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Design and manage multilateral program initiatives with government agencies, NGOs, and international organizations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with diplomatic staff, policymakers, and industry partners.
  • Plan and execute high-level meetings, conferences, and capacity-building workshops in Brussels and abroad.
  • Monitor geopolitical developments and advise on risk mitigation and strategic positioning.
  • Translate complex policy insights into actionable recommendations and stakeholder communications.
  • Contribute to grant proposals, funding considerations, and performance reporting.
  • Uphold ethical standards and ensure compliance with international law and institutional policies.

Qualification

  • Master's degree in International Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in diplomacy, public policy, or international affairs.
  • Proven track record in negotiation, stakeholder management, and consensus-building across diverse actors.
  • Strong understanding of multilateral institutions and geopolitical dynamics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages (French, Dutch, or other) a plus.
  • Strategic thinking, project management, and data-driven decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, culturally diverse environment and travel as required.
  • High ethical standards, discretion, and commitment to public service values.
