Join a leading risk and resilience firm to lead crisis management for enterprise clients and key internal programs. You will design, implement, and continuously improve crisis capabilities that protect people, operations, and reputation under pressure. This is a senior, high-impact role that blends strategic leadership with hands-on incident response.
Based in New York, you will partner with C-suite executives, operations, communications, legal, and risk teams to ensure rapid, evidence-based decisions during incidents, and to build organizational resilience for a wide range of threats.
Responsibility
- Lead the crisis management lifecycle across detection, response, recovery, and post-incident reviews for client programs or internal operations.
- Develop, maintain, and exercise incident response plans, playbooks, business continuity strategies, and risk controls.
- Establish and guide an Incident Command Center during major events, coordinating cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Provide strategic counsel to executives on risk, reputational implications, and decision-making under pressure.
- Oversee crisis communications, including messaging for stakeholders, media coordination, and regulatory reporting.
- Design, run tabletop exercises and simulations; deliver training to build organizational readiness and resilience.
- Produce metrics, dashboards, and post-incident reports to drive continuous improvement.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Risk, Business, Public Policy, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 8 years in crisis management, business continuity, risk management, or equivalent consulting environment.
- Proven incident command leadership and ability to coordinate across diverse teams and time zones.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication; able to craft executive-ready messaging for internal and external audiences.
- Experience in crisis communications, media relations, and reputation management during live incidents.
- Relevant certifications (CBCP, CISM, PMP, or equivalent) and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Strong analytical skills, risk assessment, and decision-making under pressure; comfort with ambiguous information.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% and work in high-stakes environments.
