We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Sports Operations to steer daily operations for our flagship teams and events in New York.

In this role, you will partner with executive leadership to optimize processes, enhance safety and security, and maximize operational efficiency across game days, travel, venue logistics, and partnerships.

Responsibility

  • Oversee all day-to-day operations for our professional sports program, including game-day logistics, travel, facilities coordination, and event production.
  • Lead budget development, vendor contracting, procurement, and cost control to deliver profitable missions.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sponsorship, ticketing, and community relations to align operations with strategic goals.
  • Manage risk, safety, and security protocols; ensure compliance with league rules and venue requirements.
  • Build and mentor a high-performance operations team; recruit, develop, and succession plan for key roles.
  • Implement data-driven dashboards to monitor performance, optimize scheduling, and report results to senior leadership.
  • Drive fan experience initiatives and community engagement programs to boost attendance and loyalty.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in sports management, business administration, or related field; MBA or sports-specific master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years in operations management within professional sports or large-scale entertainment environments.
  • Proven leadership capability with track record building and developing teams.
  • Strong budget ownership, contract negotiation, vendor management, and procurement experience.
  • Excellent program management and cross-functional collaboration skills, with superior communication and stakeholder management.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety, security, and compliance standards; ability to respond calmly under pressure.
