Job description
Join Micron Semiconductors as a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff (DMTS) in Process Development focusing on Dry Etch for next-generation NAND devices. This is a unique leadership role at the intersection of advanced plasma physics, materials science, and manufacturing excellence. You will shape technology roadmaps for plasma-based etching, drive breakthrough improvements, mentor senior engineers, and partner with design, materials, equipment, and reliability teams to translate research breakthroughs into high-yield production.
As a DMTS, you will own the development and optimization of dry etch chemistries and plasma processes, pushing improvements in etch selectivity, anisotropy, critical-dimension control, and defectivity. You will design and execute rigorous experiments, apply DOE and advanced statistics, and deploy in-situ metrology to capture actionable insights. You will leverage AI, machine learning, and data analytics to model process windows, predict outcomes, and enable robust, repeatable manufacturing controls. Your leadership will ensure safe, scalable processes and align lab results with manufacturing targets.
Collaborating with cross-functional partners across Equipment, Process Integration, Yield, and Product teams, you will drive pilot-to-mass production transitions and contribute to the company IP portfolio through publications and patents. You will foster a culture of technical excellence, mentorship, and continuous learning, and you will have the opportunity to influence the next generation of NAND devices from the lab to fab. If you are a strategic technologist who thrives on solving complex materials challenges while developing people and processes, this role offers a compelling path for impact and career growth.
