As a Duty Engineer, you will protect the integrity of the property, ensuring guest rooms and public areas stay pristine and fully functional. In this role, you will lead proactive maintenance, respond quickly to repair requests, and collaborate with a passionate engineering team to maintain equipment reliability in a fast-paced resort environment. Responsibility
- Perform proactive preventive maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire life safety, and general building systems to ensure reliability and guest comfort.
- Respond promptly to guest repair requests, diagnose issues, and implement effective solutions with minimal disruption to operations.
- Inspect, test, and maintain equipment such as generators, pumps, chillers, electrical panels, lighting, elevators, and safety systems.
- Monitor energy usage and implement efficiency measures to reduce costs while maintaining performance.
- Coordinate with approved vendors and contractors, supervising on site work and ensuring compliance with Marriott standards and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, inventories, and asset registers; track warranties and service agreements.
- Assist with life safety drills and ensure compliance with local codes and Marriott policies; support emergency response during incidents.
Qualification
- Related engineering or building maintenance experience in hospitality or a similar environment.
- Trade qualification or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or Facilities Management.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and safety systems relevant to hotel operations.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematic diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Problem solving mindset with strong troubleshooting skills and a hands on approach.
- Excellent communication and guest service orientation; ability to work with diverse teams and guests.
- Willingness to work a rotating shift schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; physical stamina for hands on maintenance tasks.
