Job description
Become a key member of the Malaysia Aviation Group by joining the MAB Academy as a Technician, Simulator Maintenance. In this role you will carry out repair and preventive maintenance on Flight Simulator Training Devices (FSTDs) and their components, ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
You will work with a multidisciplinary team to troubleshoot complex flight sim systems, including mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces. You will follow established maintenance procedures, carry out calibrations, and coordinate with engineering and training teams to plan downtime and minimize disruption to flight training schedules.
As a technician, you will document all maintenance actions, manage service logs, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance realism, performance, and safety of training devices. You will stay current with vendor guidelines and regulatory requirements from CAAM and applicable international standards, and you will participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis as needed.

Responsibility
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Flight Simulator Training Devices (FSTDs) and components to ensure uptime and safety.
- Diagnose faults using schematics, vendor manuals, and diagnostic tools; perform repairs or replacements as needed.
- Calibrate, align, test, and reassemble simulator hardware, including mechanical assemblies, wiring, and sensors.
- Monitor and update software/firmware of simulators per vendor guidelines; manage configuration control.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and regulatory compliance documentation; manage spare parts usage and inventory.
- Coordinate with engineering, training, and operations teams to schedule downtime and minimize impact on training schedules.
- Support commissioning of new simulators, modifications, or retrofits; participate in acceptance testing and documentation.
- Adhere to safety, quality, and regulatory standards; engage in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualification
- Diploma or certificate in Aircraft Maintenance, Avionics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
- Hands-on experience with maintenance of flight simulators or complex training devices is preferred.
- Familiarity with aviation regulatory requirements (CAAM, ICAO) and safety standards.
- Proficient in reading electrical and mechanical schematics and wiring diagrams; experience with diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of software interfaces, basic networking, and vendor software used for simulator systems.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and meticulous documentation skills.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and safety-conscious mindset.
- Willingness to work in Kuala Lumpur and adapt to variable schedules as required.
