Responsibility
- Lead high quality tours for groups of varying sizes across Edinburgh landmarks and neighborhoods.
- Provide accurate historical information, context, and engaging storytelling tailored to diverse audiences.
- Ensure guest safety and comfort, including risk awareness and incident response.
- Manage tour flow, pacing, and site logistics to deliver a seamless experience.
- Collaborate with local partners and operators to coordinate excursions and seasonal offerings.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of city attractions, routes, and accessibility options.
- Uphold brand standards and respond pro-actively to guest needs and feedback.
- Assist with bilingual or multilingual tours as needed and supported by language training.
Qualification
- Excellent public speaking and storytelling abilities with a friendly, confident presentation style.
- Previous guiding or hospitality experience preferred; tourist guide certification welcome.
- Fluency in English; additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French, German) a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and customer service orientation.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekends, holidays, and outdoor weather conditions.
- Ability to research, verify information, and adapt content for different audiences.
- Must have valid work authorization for the UK and eligibility to work in public settings.
