Bruker Corporation is seeking a dynamic Electrical Engineer to join our growing R&D Engineering team in Penang. In this role, you will design, develop, and integrate electrical subsystems for Bruker's next-generation instruments, collaborating with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust, reliable hardware that meets stringent performance and quality standards.
You will translate system requirements into electrical architectures, select components, draft schematics, review PCB layouts, and drive hardware verification across lab and production environments. You will conduct performance characterization, root-cause analysis, and qualification testing, contributing to the hardware development lifecycle from concept through to production.

Responsibility
- Design, develop, and qualify electrical sub-systems for Bruker's instrumentation, including analog/digital circuits, power management, signal integrity, and protection.
- Translate system requirements into detailed electrical architectures, selecting components and creating robust schematics and documentation.
- Lead PCB design reviews, manage layouts, and ensure manufacturability and testability.
- Perform thermal analysis, EMI/EMC considerations, and reliability assessments to meet product specifications.
- Plan and execute hardware verification and validation activities, including benchtop testing, instrumentation calibration, and retest strategies.
- Collaborate with software, mechanical engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration and scalable production.
- Support quality systems and regulatory compliance, maintain design files, and participate in design change control.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master's preferred.
- Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, instrumentation, sensors, and measurement techniques.
- Experience in PCB design and layout using industry-standard CAD tools; familiarity with Altium/Mentor is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers; knowledge of firmware development is a plus.
- Proficiency with instrumentation, LabVIEW or MATLAB for test, data analysis, and automation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Understanding of EMI/EMC, power electronics, signal integrity, and thermal management in complex systems.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset.
