Job description
Join PT Sumber Samudra Makmur, a leading shipyard in Batam, as an Electrical Engineer with 5+ years of experience in the maritime industry. You will design, analyze, and optimize shipboard electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, instrumentation, generating sets, motor drives, and electrical protection schemes. You will collaborate with structural, mechanical, and electrical teams to deliver safe, reliable electrical solutions for newbuilds and retrofits, while ensuring compliance with international maritime standards and class society rules.
The ideal candidate combines hands-on design skills with strong project management and team leadership. You will be responsible for creating and reviewing electrical drawings and schematics, performing load and short-circuit analyses, coordinating with suppliers, and supporting on-site commissioning and sea trials. This role offers the opportunity to influence complex marine projects from concept to installation, with ample room for professional growth and industry impact.
Key advantages include exposure to modern ship electrical systems, exposure to marine classification rules, and a collaborative environment that values innovation and quality. If you are a proactive engineer who thrives in a shipyard setting, this is the role for you.
