EnergiaTech Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Power Engineer to join our growing energy team in Houston. The ideal candidate will design, analyze, and optimize power systems for grid modernization, renewable integration, and reliability programs.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead technical reviews, and ensure compliance with industry standards (IEEE, IEC). You will drive technical excellence from concept to commissioning.
Responsibility
- Lead the design and analysis of electrical power systems, including generation, transmission, substations, and distribution components.
- Perform protective relay settings, protection coordination, and arc flash analysis.
- Model and simulate power systems using ETAP, PSCAD, Digsilent, or SKM.
- Conduct reliability assessments, root cause analysis, and asset management for grid infrastructure.
- Develop and review specifications for equipment, cables, switchgear, and protection schemes.
- Collaborate with project teams on commissioning plans, testing, and field verification.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards (IEEE 519, NERC CIP, IEC 61850) and safety requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and support business development with technical proposals.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's or PE license preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical power systems, utility-scale or industrial applications.
- Strong background in power system modeling, protection, and instrumentation.
- Proficiency with design software (ETAP, PSCAD, SKM, or Digsilent) and MATLAB/Simulink.
- Experience with renewable integration, HV/MV substations, and SCADA systems.
- Knowledge of IEEE/NERC standards and safety practices; excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deliver on deadlines, and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
