Job description
VoltEdge Energy is seeking a Senior Electrical Power Engineer based in Houston to lead design and optimization of electrical power systems for industrial facilities, microgrids, and grid interconnection projects. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, apply industry standards (IEEE, NEC, NFPA 70E), and deliver reliable, safe, and cost-effective solutions that meet client objectives.
You will partner with clients and internal teams to design, analyze, and implement power systems that maximize efficiency, safety, and reliability while adhering to budget and schedule constraints.
Responsibility
- Lead design and analysis of electrical power systems including distribution, generation, energy storage, and grid integration.
- Perform load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, and arc-flash studies using ETAP, SKM, or equivalent software.
- Develop protection and control schemes, relay settings, and interfaces with PLC/SCADA systems.
- Produce technical reports, drawings, and specifications; coordinate with contractors, vendors, and clients.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE standards, NFPA 70E, and local codes; promote safety and reliability.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and procurement activities; oversee commissioning and testing.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead design reviews; contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; PE license preferred or ability to obtain in Texas.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical power systems engineering for industrial, utility, or renewable projects.
- Proficiency with ETAP and SKM; experience with AutoCAD Electrical or REVIT is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of protection and control systems, relay coordination, and arc-flash analysis.
- Solid understanding of NEC, IEEE standards, and safety practices; excellent communication and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, write clear technical reports, and engage with clients and stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% and ability to obtain work authorization in the United States.
