You will work with cross-functional teams to optimize reliability, safety, and efficiency across distributed energy resources.

You will collaborate with project managers, civil, and controls teams to ensure on-time delivery, rigorous QA/QC, and adherence to industry standards. This role offers visibility into large-scale grid projects, cutting-edge software tools, and a clear path for career growth in a thriving energy market.

Responsibility

  • Perform detailed power system studies (short-circuit, load flow, protection coordination, harmonic analysis) using PSS/E, ETAP, and DIgSILENT.
  • Develop equipment specifications, datasheets, one-line diagrams, cable schedules, and protective relay schemes.
  • Coordinate with project managers, civil, and control systems engineers to ensure schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, IEC standards; support QA/QC reviews and design validation.
  • Support field activities from commissioning and testing to startup, troubleshooting, and performance validation.
  • Mentor junior engineers; prepare technical documentation, proposals, and training materials.
  • Interface with clients and regulators to present design concepts and risk assessments.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; PE license preferred or active pursuit.
  • 5+ years of electrical power engineering experience across utility, industrial, or renewable projects.
  • Proficiency with power system analysis tools (PSS/E, ETAP, DIgSILENT) and CAD tools (AutoCAD/MicroStation).
  • Strong knowledge of protective relaying, SCADA/EMS, and control logic; familiarity with NERC CIP compliance is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; client-facing experience and proposal development.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and travel up to 20% as needed.
