Job description

EnergiaTech Solutions is seeking a senior Electrical Power Systems Engineer to design, optimize, and deliver high-impact power projects for utility-scale clients across transmission, distribution, and renewable integration. This role offers the opportunity to influence grid modernization initiatives and work with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

As a key contributor, you will drive technical solutions from concept through commissioning, collaborate with clients and internal teams, and mentor junior engineers to maintain our standard of excellence in reliability, efficiency, and safety.

Responsibility

  • Lead the electrical power systems design for new utility-scale projects, including transmission and distribution components.
  • Perform load flow, short-circuit, harmonic, and protection coordination studies using ETAP/PSCAD.
  • Develop protection schemes, relay settings, and coordination studies in accordance with NEC, IEEE, and local codes.
  • Prepare technical design deliverables, including one-line diagrams, feeder schedules, equipment specifications, and bill of materials.
  • Collaborate with project managers, civil/MEP teams, and clients to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Support commissioning, performance testing, and field acceptance of electrical systems; provide troubleshooting guidance.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support ongoing professional development within the team.
  • Ensure safety compliance and participate in risk assessments and QA/QC reviews.

Qualification

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering; M.S. or PE license preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in power systems engineering, grid interconnection, or renewable integration.
  • Proficiency with ETAP, PSCAD, DIGSILENT/PSSE, MATLAB; AutoCAD Electrical or Schematic capture.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 70, NEC, IEEE 519/ OSHA standards and protective relay coordination.
  • Experience with HV/LV substation design and protection schemes.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and client-facing skills; ability to lead teams and manage stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15-20% as project demands require.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset.
