Job description
Join NovaVolt Engineering, a leader in high-efficiency power electronics and automation solutions. We're seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and test innovative electrical systems across automotive, industrial, and consumer electronics applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and help scale our engineering processes to meet aggressive product timelines.
As a critical member of our R&D team, you will own end-to-end design from concept through verification, validation, and production readiness. We value hands-on problem solving, rigorous documentation, and a passion for engineering excellence.
Responsibility
- Lead the design and development of power electronics, analog and digital circuits for high-reliability applications.
- Own end-to-end hardware development lifecycle from concept through production release.
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and firmware teams to ensure robust system integration.
- Create and maintain electrical design specifications, schematics, and PCB layouts using ECAD tools.
- Perform simulations (SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink) and hardware-in-the-loop tests to validate designs.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct design reviews, and promote best practices in reliability and safety.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (UL, IEC, ISO) and maintain clear design documentation and traceability.
Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; PhD preferred for advanced roles.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in power electronics, analog/digital circuit design, and PCB layout.
- Proficiency with ECAD tools (Altium, OrCAD), SPICE simulators, MATLAB/Simulink, and LabVIEW.
- Experience with FPGA or microcontroller integration in embedded systems.
- Strong knowledge of design for reliability, EMC/EMI, and thermal management.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- U.S. work authorization; ability to travel up to 10% as needed.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and DFMEA/DFX practices is a plus.
