Job description

Join Apex Integrations, a leading engineering firm delivering cutting-edge electrical systems for automotive, industrial, and consumer electronics. We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to own design and validation of power electronics, embedded control, and high-reliability hardware.

This role blends hands-on hardware development with system-level thinking, working across cross-functional teams to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions.

Responsibility

  • Lead end-to-end electrical design for power electronics, analog/digital circuits, and embedded control boards.
  • Architect power management topologies (buck/boost, isolated/non-isolated converters) and select appropriate components for reliability and efficiency.
  • Develop and execute validation plans including test rigs, FMEA, DFM, and quality metrics.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration and manufacturability.
  • Mentor junior engineers and review schematics, layouts, and test results.
  • Prepare designs for certification (UL/IEC/CE) and support regulatory audits.
  • Own PCB layout design and signal integrity analysis, using SPICE and simulation tools.
  • Drive continuous improvement in design processes and documentation standards.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in power electronics, embedded systems, and hardware development.
  • Strong knowledge of analog/digital circuit design, control theory, and PCB design (layout best practices).
  • Experience with SPICE simulation, MATLAB/Simulink, and EDA tools (Altium, Cadence).
  • Hands-on prototyping, debugging, and lab testing; familiarity with lab equipment (oscilloscope, function generator, power supplies).
  • Understanding of safety standards and certifications (UL, IEC, CE) and design for reliability.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and project leadership skills.
  • U.S. work authorization and willingness to work on-site in San Jose, CA.
