VoltEdge Energy is seeking a proactive Electrical Power Systems Engineer to design, analyze, and deliver robust electrical systems for energy projects across the Houston area. You will apply advanced engineering methods to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency of power distribution and generation assets.
In this role you will lead power system studies, protection schemes, and integration with SCADA and control systems, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to meet project milestones and code requirements.

Responsibility
- Lead design, analysis, and optimization of electrical power systems for utility-scale projects.
- Develop and validate protection schemes, relay settings, and arc-flash assessments.
- Perform load flow, short-circuit, transient stability, and power quality studies using ETAP, PSS/E, or SKM.
- Integrate power systems with SCADA, PLCs, and DCS for reliable monitoring and control.
- Coordinate with mechanical, civil, procurement, and commissioning teams to deliver safe, compliant installations.
- Prepare technical specifications, reports, and drawings in accordance with NEC, IEEE, NESC, and NFPA standards.
- Provide field support during testing, commissioning, and startup, and mentor junior engineers.
Qualification
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering; PE license preferred.
- 5+ years in electrical power systems design, substations, or renewable energy integration.
- Proficiency with ETAP, PSS/E, SKM, PSCAD, AutoCAD, and REVIT for electrical layouts and diagrams.
- Strong knowledge of protective relays, SCADA, PMU deployments, and distribution automation.
- Solid understanding of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, and NERC CIP as applicable.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills; proven ability to lead multi-discipline teams.
- Ability to travel up to 20% for site visits, commissioning, and vendor meetings.
