Join NovaGrid Technologies as an Electrical Power Systems Engineer and help design, analyze, and optimize modern electric power systems for utilities, industrial facilities, and renewable projects.
We are seeking a results-driven professional who can deliver reliable, scalable, and compliant solutions across transmission, distribution, and grid modernization initiatives.
In this role you will model, simulate, and specify equipment and protection strategies to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency of complex electrical networks.
Responsibility
- Perform power system studies including load flow, short-circuit, stability, and dynamic analyses.
- Design, specify, and select equipment such as switchgear, transformers, generators, energy storage, and UPS systems.
- Develop and configure protection schemes and relay settings using ETAP, PSS/E, DIgSILENT, or SKM.
- Prepare technical documentation, design drawings, single-line diagrams, and protection coordination reports.
- Lead client interfaces and collaborate with EPCs, utilities, and project managers to meet schedules and budgets.
- Oversee commissioning and FAT/SAT activities; troubleshoot field issues and provide timely solutions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards including NEC, IEEE, NERC CIP, and local regulations.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
- 3-7 years of experience in electrical power systems engineering or related field.
- Proficiency with power system analysis tools ETAP, PSS/E, DIgSILENT, SKM.
- Experience in HV/MV substation design, protection relays, and coordination.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NERC CIP standards and applicable codes.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and client-facing skills; project management experience a plus.
- Professional Engineer license preferred or eligibility for licensure in Texas.
